Total Sheds
Included free — no upgrade, no extra cost
Between the cladding and the framework of every Total Sheds building sits a layer you'll never see — and it's doing more for the lifespan of your shed than almost anything you can. (The exceptions: greenhouses and BBQ sheds, where glass and open-sided construction mean it isn't needed.)
Think of it like this: the cladding is your coat, the membrane is the waterproof jacket underneath, the framework is you. If rain gets through the coat, the jacket still keeps you dry.
Most budget manufacturers leave the membrane out to save £10–£30 per building. You can't see it from the outside, so nobody knows it's missing — until rot appears years later. Every Total Sheds building that needs one has it (greenhouses and BBQ sheds excepted). No upgrade, no extra cost.
A secondary waterproof barrier behind the cladding, guarding against wind-driven rain.
Vapour passes from inside to outside, so damp air never gets trapped in the walls.
Keeps the frame dry for decades — the quiet job that matters most.
Acts as a wind barrier, cutting draughts and helping any insulation perform.
Without it, wind-driven rain can soak insulation and rot timber invisibly.
Breathable membrane · pressure-treated timber · EPDM roofing — the stuff you can't see is the stuff that lasts.
