We make big, physical products out of timber — so our environmental footprint is real, and so is our responsibility for it. This page sets out how we approach that responsibility, plainly and without greenwash.
Our aim is simple: build things that last, build them close to the customer, and waste as little as possible doing it. We would rather make a smaller number of honest commitments we actually keep than a long list of impressive-sounding ones we can't evidence.
Every building is manufactured at our own UK premises, made to order. That matters environmentally: we don't mass-produce stock that may never sell, and our products aren't shipped around the world before reaching you. Making to order keeps offcuts and overproduction down, and panels are cut to standard modular sizes so material use is efficient by design.
The greenest building is the one you don't have to replace. Our anti-rot warranties, optional heavy-duty specifications, EPDM rubber roofing (a roof covering with a service life far beyond traditional felt) and treatment products all exist to stretch the life of the building — and we publish maintenance guidance in our Knowledge Centre so owners can keep their buildings sound for decades.
We review our materials, suppliers, waste and transport practices as the business grows, and we'll update this page when our practices change — adding evidence and further certifications as we obtain them, never claiming them in advance. Questions or suggestions are welcome: info@totalsheds.co.uk.
